Maximum Output Speed of 1,506 SqFt/Hr (140 SqM/Hr)

Incorporates various print modes suitable for any workflow, ranging from a high-speed print with a maximum rate of 1,506 Sqft/Hr (140 SqM/Hr) to practical quality print with an output speed of 592 SqFt/Hr (55 SqM/Hr) and finally, quality-oriented print speed of 333 SqFt/Hr (31 SqM/Hr). The practical quality mode achieves approximately 140 percent (*1) higher productivity in comparison with our conventional model, TS300P-1800.

*1- Comparison using TS55-1800: 600×600 dpi, 2 pass and TS300P-1800: 720×720 dpi, 4 pass, Hi (in the practical quality mode)

Optional Units Achieve Low Running Costs and Continuous Operation

Mini Jumbo Roll Unit

  • This is a feeding unit to load Mimaki Vision Jet-X transfer paper with a length of about 8,202 feet. It reduces the cost per square foot and shortens the downtime due to media replacement in comparison to smaller transfer paper rolls.

10 kg Ink Supply Unit

  • This is an ink supply unit to set a 10 kg (22 lbs.) ink tank for a single color. Compared with the conventional 2 liter ink pack, the running cost is greatly reduced and the downtime due to ink replacement is shortened.

Extended Heater

  • This extended heater is installed to the lower part of the standard heater. The heater enhances the ink-drying capability and prevents the blocking of media caused by wet ink obstructing the feed during high-speed print, therefore ensuring a stable production.

Newly Developed Printheads Ensure High-Quality Prints (Even at a High Speed)

The Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) provides gradation to printed pass boundaries to maintain a stable print quality by reducing banding and uneven color. The TS55-1800 is equipped with newly developed printheads that enables MAPS in the high-speed mode. This technology allows the simultaneous pursuit of both high speed and quality.

Technologies for Uninterrupted Reliable Printing Operation

Mimaki’s unique automatic Nozzle Check Unit (NCU) is mounted. When the NCU detects a missing nozzle, it automatically performs cleaning to solve the problem. When the missing nozzle is still unsolved even after the cleaning, the Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) is used to continue printing by switching to another nozzle. The print can be restarted to maintain productivity, without the need to wait for a service representative.

Advanced TxLink4 Lite RIP Software

  • A 16-bit rendering creates beautiful gradation expression.
  • Parallel RIP and load balancing functions make production more efficient.
The RIP process for multiple pieces of print data can be performed in parallel. In addition, the load balancing function enables print jobs to be assigned to vacant printers automatically, allowing efficient production when multiple printers are connected (*2, 3).
*2- Identical printers / identical ink-set printers
*3- Additional printer licenses corresponding to the number of connected printers are required.

Parallel RIP function

RIP processes can be performed in parallel, making production that uses multiple printers (*2, 3) efficient. The parallel processing capability can handle up to eight jobs.

Load balancing function

Print jobs are pooled and automatically assigned to multiple printers (*2, 3).

  • Variable print function tailored to applications for apparel is provided.

Variable data, such as uniform numbers and player names, can be directly imported from a CSV file to create multiple print jobs. The text can also be processed using methods, such as text outline fills and arched text layout.

Spot Color Inks Enable Beautiful and Unique Expression

  • Light black ink creates stunning gray-scale expression
    • Because sublimation transfer print uses a high-density black ink, graininess or tone jump may occur in some cases. Light black ink allows for smooth printing without graininess or tone jump.
  • Fluorescent inks creates unique expression
    • The demand for fluorescent inks is rising in products, such as uniforms and other sports apparel, fashion apparel, and eye-catching bright soft signage. To use fluorescent inks as the complementary colors of process colors, not to mention as spot colors, a multi-color mode (*4) is provided. The fluorescent inks complement magenta and yellow to create brighter colors.

*4- Only available in TxLink4

Mimaki Vision Jet-X Allows for Longer Production Runs

Mimaki Vision Jet-X jumbo rolls has approximately 8,202 feet of transfer paper. When running the TS55-1800 printer at its maximum speed (1,506 SqFt/Hr; 140 SqM/Hr), a 492-foot roll of transfer paper runs out in approximately two hours. The system was therefore incapable of coping with an uninterrupted operation, such as overnight printing in the absence of operators. The Mimaki Vision Jet-X jumbo roll allows for unattended printing with a longer production run. The mini jumbo roll also contributes to reducing the running cost with lower paper costs per square foot in comparison to normal plotter roll.

Highlights of the Mimaki Tiger Series

This 74.8-inch printers include an adhesive belt transport system with belt washing technology and in-line heat drying unit for an all-in-one direct-to-textile printing solution. It includes a built-in PC with Q Print software for easy and efficient operation.

High Efficiency for All Production Runs

The Tiger Series has production models featuring 16 print heads in a staggered array for the direct-to-textile models (or 8 print heads for dye sublimation transfer models), resulting in very high print speeds of up to 4,144 SqFt/Hr. Usable quality can be achieved even at these high print speeds to meet volume demands, or to quickly produce shorter-run projects for regional or seasonal fashion requirements.

High print speeds are complemented by a sophisticated textile transport system. Stable textile transport is achieved through twin pressure roller shafts attached to the edge of the transportation belt. Textiles are uniformly transported onto the belt through the dual rollers.

Wrinkle and Media Jam sensors detect textile wrinkling or creasing early in order to minimize potential damage to the print heads from collisions with raised or jammed textiles.

Technologies for Improved Performance and Productivity

The Tiger Series includes a number of technologies and automated processes for consistent quality output and productivity.

A belt washing mechanism that prevents stains on fresh fabric from ink remaining on the belt. It is equipped with two squeegees to prevent splash-back, and two heaters to dry and re-activate the belt surface.

To ensure optimal print head maintenance, cleaning liquid is automatically applied to each wiper before and after head cleaning. This liquid enhances the cleaning effect during the head cleaning process, ensuring a clean wiper and reducing daily maintenance time.

The Tiger Series features Variable Dot Printing where variable ink droplet sizes – small, medium and large – are precisely placed. Smaller droplets create smoother gradients and quartertones, while large droplets produce uniform solids.

A standard Degassing Module reduces clogging by removing air bubbles in the ink, and an Ink Circulation ensures stable ink supply by constantly circulating the ink.

The Tiger-1800B MkII printer offers Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) technology that reduces visible banding and uneven color printing with blurred boundaries similar to gradation printing. It also has the Nozzle Recovery System that enables mapping of unrecoverable nozzles, so that printing can continue.

Features

Highlights of the Mimaki TS500P-3200 Printer

Dedicated transfer paper printer

The TS500P was specifically engineered for the dye sublimation industry. Designed to print onto the thinnest of transfer paper, it includes a number of technologies that enable printing on thin transfer media, while maintaining extremely high quality output.

High gap printhead

Thin transfer papers – desirable because of more square footage per roll – are susceptible to cockling, creating media transport problems and potential head strikes. The TS500P printer employs a new printhead that ensures accurate ink droplet placement with a high head gap, enabling high quality printing on thin transfer paper.

Mimaki TS500pP-3200 Product video

Production print speeds

With 12 printheads, the TS500P printer delivers high productivity with print speeds of up to 1937 square feet (180 square meters) per hour in four-color mode. Print speeds of up to 1130 square feet (105 square meters) per hour can be achieved in six-color mode.

Media handling system

The Auto Media Feeder applies calibrated tension to the media, maintaining stable and precise media feed and take-up on rolls up to 286 lbs. (130 kg). This also reduces telescoping of the media during take-up and eliminates the potential for buckling or creasing during the calendar transfer process thereby accommodating long run, full roll transfers. Four independent post-print heaters reduces cockling for smoother transport to the take-up reel.

Workflow enhancements

The TS500P printer can be connected to a network via Ethernet (or USB 2.0) connection, for flexibility in setting up the workflow. Via the Remote Event Notification feature, it can relay status information such as start, finish or error messages to a mobile phone or computer.

Features

Highlights of the Mimaki TS300P-1800 Printer

Dedicated transfer paper printer

The TS300P was specifically engineered for the dye sublimation industry.

The TS300P printer employs a new printhead that ensures accurate ink droplet placement with a high head gap, enabling high quality printing on thin transfer paper.

Media handling system

A powerful vacuum feed platen holds media taut, while larger media press plates minimize cockling by reducing media uplift immediately after printing. The Auto Media Feeder applies calibrated tension to the media, maintaining stable and precise media feed and take-up.

Production print speeds

The TS300P printer delivers high productivity with print speeds of up to 1238 square feet (115 square meters) per hour in four-color mode. Print speeds of up to 700 square feet (65 square meters) per hour can be achieved in six-color mode.

New Sb410 inks

Mimaki-developed and manufactured Sb410 sublimation inks offer enhanced resolvability, which improves the print production yield by ensuring more stable ink jetting. Moreover, because the ink stability is improved, daily cleaning is easier and fewer regular cleanings are required, further contributing to cost reduction and higher throughput. A two-liter bulk ink system is standard.

Workflow enhancements

The TS300P printer can be connected to a network via Ethernet (or USB 2.0) connection, for flexibility in setting up the workflow. Via the Remote Event Notification feature, it can relay status information such as start, finish or error messages to a mobile phone or computer.

Dedicated transfer paper printer

The TS300P was specifically engineered for the dye sublimation industry.

Features

Highlights of the Mimaki TX500-1800 Printer

High Speed Printing

The Tx500-1800 dye sublimation inkjet printer can print at high speeds up to 1615 SqFt/Hr (150 SqM/h) for the DS model, and up to 1507 SqFt/Hr (140 SqM/Hr) for the B model. The print heads are arranged in a staggered configuration, producing a larger print swath and enabling faster production speeds.

Print Direct-to-Fabric with Reactive Dye or Dye Sublimation Inks

Reactive dye inks* yield excellent wash- and light-fastness for applications such as home furnishings. Reactive dyes can print to pretreated natural fabrics such as cotton, silk, linen and rayon. Mimaki RC300 reactive dye inks can be used on the B (belt) model. Dye sublimation inks** yield vibrant colors and can print directly to pretreated polyester fabrics. Mimaki Sb300 sublimation dye inks can be used on the B (belt) or the DS (direct sublimation) model.

*Requires pretreated fabric and a steaming process to set the pigments.
**Requires a transfer process to set the pigments.

Variable Drop Printing Produces Smooth Images

The advantage of variable drop printing is most apparent when printing color gradations in light or pastel colors. In addition, variable drop printing delivers fine, high resolution prints that are less granular by jetting two different ink drop sizes at a time.

Mimaki Degassing Module for Lower Ink Costs

A degassing process is required for manufacturing conventional pouched ink. An embedded system – the Mimaki Degassing Module (MDM-20) – enables the printer to use 2 liter bottled inks instead of conventional degassed ink packs, reducing costs.

Uninterrupted Ink Supply System

Utilizing the UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) when one bottle is emptied, the printer automatically switches to the full container of the same color to deliver continuous imaging.
